The Importance of Having More Than One Sports Book

A common theme that I've been hearing from people who visit the site is something like, "I like your site, you have great content and information, but I already have a sport book account." I understand that people get comfortable and familiar with their sports book and how it can make them feel like they don't need multiple sport books, however this is another classic mistake made by a lot of gamblers today. This might just be THE #1 Sports Betting Tip I can offer, people, so please take this one seriously.

It's Just Like Shopping...

A good comparison I can make for you is to think of betting on sports like shopping. If you were looking to buy a new TV, you wouldn't just buy the first one you see from the first store you visit, would you? Chances are, you'd shop around until you found the best TV for the best price like the savvy consumer that you are.

Generally speaking, betting on sports is very similar to shopping--different sport books often have different lines and odds posted. For example, your sport book might offer the Lakers at -5.5, while Bodog may offer the Lakers at -5. There is clearly an advantage in betting the line at -5, as a five point Laker victory would result in a push and you getting your money back, whereas the -5.5 line that your sport book offered would be a losing bet. This makes it very beneficial to you, the sports better, to shop around various different sports books to find the best line for the game.

In addition to looking for the best line, having multiple sport books also gives you the opportunity to utilize different deposit and withdrawal methods. Certain sport books offer a multitude of banking methods, a definite plus for those who prefer not to use their credit card when funding their account.

Keep Account Information the Same

I know how hard it can be to keep track of account information for various websites.  I would recommend using the same (or very similar) user ID and password for all your sport book accounts, making it easy for you to jump from account to account while seeking out the best lines and odds for the games that you wish to wager on. Follow this pattern, and you'll easily be able to remember your account information and make the smartest bets possible each day. Trust me, shopping around for the best line every day will most certainly win you money in the long run.  If you don't listen to any of my tips except this one, you'll still be smarter than the average sports better.
